This is a non-profit organization and center for an endangered species of giraffes. The primary purpose is to conserve the species while offering educational insights to the younger generation on the importance of wildlife.

Giraffe Manor is a 5-star hotel where you get to spend time with giraffes from the outside through the windows. This hotel will probably create an unforgettable experience, especially if you are an animal lover.

Giraffe Centre Nairobi entrance fees are as follows;

  • Resident Adult: KES 400
  • Resident Child: KES 200
  • Non-Resident Adult: KES 1,500 ( 10.22 USD )
  • Non-Resident Child: KES 750 ( 5.1 USD )
  • School Trips: Free

The Giraffe Centre offers tourists exposure to the species by feeding them from their hands. This is a surreal experience that can’t be experienced elsewhere but here.

David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Nairobi

Located in the same neighborhood as Giraffe Center, David Sheldrick offers educational tours to those interested in elephants and wildlife conservation at large.

The foundation rescues and rehabilitates young orphaned elephants until they mature enough to be released into the wild. The reason why it is exclusively elephants is because they are an endangered species as poachers target them. The young orphaned elephants are even covered with blankets at night to replicate the same experience as when with their herd.

Their nursery, while mainly sided with elephants, also rescues baby rhinos. Their website documents each rescue operation and progress; you can even adopt an orphaned rhino or elephant by donating as little as $ 50 yearly!

The David Sheldrick entry fee serves as a donation to the foundation: KSh 2,000 for adults and KSh 500 for children.

The Great Rift Valley

While the first two destinations have been centered on wildlife, the Great Rift Valley offers something different: a unique, beautiful landscape scenery. It is essentially a fault line, a geological formation resulting from the earth’s crust plates’ movement in the opposite direction.

The Great Rift Valley, running across from Jordan in the Middle East to Southern Africa, the viewpoint in Kenya offers unique and magnificent scenery, complemented by the greenery of the landscape.

The result of the fault line is the sinking of some land portion while the adjacent land is uplifted. This creates a dramatic scene of deep valleys, high escarpment walls, and lake formations.

The Great Rift Valley is a haven for landscape and geology enthusiasts, offering scenic and educational purposes.

Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is also the highest point above the sea level in Kenya. Summiting here is probably on your bucket list, and it typically doesn’t require rock climbing expertise to make it to one of the highest peaks, Lenana.

The Mount Kenyan experience doesn’t end with just summiting; other activities can be done concurrently, like camping and hiking whilst on your way to the peaks. This is like a 3 in 1 package of an adventure!

Now, after experiencing Kenya’s epic wildlife and landscape offerings, you should seal the entire vacation with a cultural touch, and there is no better place to experience that than the Lamu Old Town, which has been continuously inhabited for over 700 years.

It is actually a heritage center recognized and conserved by UNESCO ( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Lamu is the best place to experience the traditional, uninfluenced Swahili culture; there are no roads to this place, even if you get there by air. Navigating the town is on a donkey’s back, which is phenomenal and preserved in the 21st Century!

You will also experience ancient architecture throughout the town and artifacts in the museum. Check out the history of Lamu from UNESCO.
